As a product manager for Upside Health you will help steer product direction both for Upside Health’s internal offerings as well as serve as the primary contact, manager, and owner of day-to-day relationships with third-party clients. You will be expected to show strong leadership skills and partner effectively across cross functional teams and stakeholders to help drive behavior change and objective improvement for our patients and partners. A desire and knack for thinking creatively about the intersection of technology and behavior change is central to the role. More tangibly, though, the ability to effectively empower those in chronic pain with the resources, tools, and community-support to notice appreciable improvement in their daily lives is the central goal for this role.


  • Own and manage the product development lifecycle for all Upside Health products including Upside Health’s branch app as well as products created and managed for third-party clients. This ranges from early-stage planning involving organizing and overseeing concept design sprints to late-stage execution involving monitoring timelines and client deliverables.
  • Serve as the primary contact for third-party clients and accounts
  • Lead internal product team meetings and oversee cross-collaboration and responsibilities
  • Actively contribute, along with product designers, to all stages of UX/UI research, design, and execution
  • Influence the app strategy, including long-term roadmaps, user segment insights, technical innovations, market trends, and platform capabilities.
  • Write clear and concise product needs in collaboration with other teams. Partner with cross-functional teams including leadership, UX/UI, Patient engagement, and backend engineering.
  • Develop and take ownership of KPI metrics and business objectives connected to new features.
  • Collaborate with engineering team and serve as a liaison between the product team and both frontend and development services.
  • Oversee development workflow through creation and oversight of Jira tickets, Trello cards, and quality assurance testing
  • Create and distribute new releases to both major app stores, as well as manage app store presence.
  • Play an active role in mitigating delivery impediments such as backend dependencies, 3rd party milestones, and other business initiatives.
  • Evaluate competitor and industry data to improve existing products and make recommendations for new products.

Preferred qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in product design, business management, or similar field or commensurate experience
  • Experience working in a fast-paced start-up environment
  • Experience working in the digital healthcare space
  • Experience overseeing all elements of the product development lifecycle
  • Experience empathizing with the challenges of those living with chronic pain
  • Experience working with product management software support tools including Jira, Trello, and internal CMS platforms
  • Basic technical knowledge
  • Demonstration of highly effective cross-functional team management
  • Exceptional writing and editing skills combined with strong presentation and public speaking skill
  • Thrive in an innovative culture where you work well with autonomy, ambiguity and adapt to change
  • Strong communication skills to partner with technical and non-technical stakeholders effectively. You love to document and define new support solutions.
  • Background in software support, technical applications usage, technical troubleshooting, and consider yourself a technology-driven thought leader
